Edo music legend, Monday Igbinidu, otherwise called Monday Edo Igbinidu, has made a legitimate move against rising vocalist Shallipopi, blaming him for copyright encroachment.

Igbinidu recorded a 200 million naira claim against Shallipopi, charging that the last option wrongfully tested his tune ‘Ovonramwen’ in his own melody ‘Obapluto.’

Through his lawyers, Chris Otasowie & Associates, Igbinidu sent a letter to Shallipopi demanding the payment of 200 million naira and a public apology for the alleged copyright infringement.

The letter partly read: ‘To pay the sum of N200,000,00.00 (Two hundred million naira) only as damages to our client for the infringement on his copyright. “A written apology published in at least two notable and widely read Newspapers and on all social media handles used by you for the promotion of your infringement of our client’s copyright’.

As of now, Shallipopi or his team has not responded to the lawsuit. The situation remains unresolved as legal proceedings may continue until a response is made.
