Divine Ikubor, better known by his stage name Rema, a well-known Nigerian singer, has revealed that the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) strike prevented him from enrolling at the University of Lagos (UNILAG) last year.

Remember that the 22-year-old musician said he got in to fulfill his mother’s wish that he finish his education.

However, a month after his admission, the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) went on an 8 months strike.

The singer who never returned to begin his education at the institution has finally opened up on his reasons for not doing so.

In a recent interview with a Caucasian host of Count Down Radio, he revealed that he had decided to bail on it because the university went on strike.

This left the white host surprised as he apparently hasn’t heard of universities going on strike.
