BIOGRAPHY OF GIL-SIL

Amendou Gilbert who goes by the stage name Gilberto Silver or GIL-SIL for short, was born on the 20/10/1995 to a family of five. He is a male afro rapper/singer and hails from Ngie sub division, Momo division in the North West region of Cameroon. He is a fervent Christian of the Presbyterian church of Cameroon and also a communicant. His hobbies are singing and watching movies. GIL-SIL has a thing for his family and is willing to go extreme miles to protect and provide for his loved ones. He is calm, quiet and gentle and these traits have ended him the name “Gentle Nigga”.
GIL-SIL had his First School Leaving Certificate at Government School Mulang, after which he proceeded into secondary school. After five years of hard work and dedication, he obtained his Ordinary Level Certificate at LONGLA Comprehensive College. He later got his Advanced Level Certificate from Government Bilingual High School Bamenda, two years after. Our upcoming super star ventured to Coltech Mile three Nkwen, to study Agricultural and Environmental Engineering. After two years of intensive studies, GIL-SIL dropped out due to the ongoing crisis and since then, he has been a real time hustler trying to make ends meet.

Despite the severe hardship of the country, GIL-SIL never gave up but pushed even harder to achieve his dreams; one of them being a musician. With his favourite artists being Ko-C, Jovi and Pascal, it is no doubt that he got into the rap game as they inspire him a lot. Back then before he even got the opportunity to get into a studio, he did some freestyles and covers, both rapping and singing. He finally got the chance to get into a music studio in 2018, an opportunity which he grabbed with both hands as that birthed his first song titled “GO NOW”, produced by Infinity Records. After releasing a few other songs and having dropped covers to some of the Camer’s hit songs such as Awu’s Sidomina, he released his first video titled “Ajebo” in 2019. It should be noted that GIL-SIL has performed in several shows such as the Nwah Comedy show, CAMUCH 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th editions, Wax Dey’s Final Light Album Launch and NBCA pre awards 2020.
