Cameroon played to a 1-1 draw with Guinea in their AFCON 2023 opening Group Match.

 

The Indomitable Lions came into this fixture as slight favorites but suffered an early setback just four minutes into the game as Guinea capitalized on Olivier Kemen’s misplaced pass to take an early lead.

 

Guinea dominated the match until first-half added time when Francois Kamano was shown a red card for a dangerous foul on Franck Magri.

 

It took only six minutes into the second half for Cameroon to capitalize on the one-player advantage. Franck Magri headed home a cross from Georges Kevin Nkoudou, leveling the score for Cameroon.

 

Cameroon and Guinea are tied on points in Group C, trailing behind Senegal, who defeated The Gambia 3-0 in the other group fixture.
