CHAN 2022: Mbekeli scores as Cameroon defeat Congo Republic 1-0 in their 2022 CHAN opener

Cameroon has kicked off their 2022 CHAN campaign with a 1-0 victory over Congo Republic thanks to a Jerome Mbekeli second half goal.
Jerom Mbekeli who was having outstanding match opened the scoring for Cameroon in the 63′ minutes with a superb header after getting at the end of a Ramses Nguimzeu cross.
Mbekeli was part of Cameroon’s 2022 FIFA World Cup squad and even provide the assist in Cameroon’s 1-0 win over Brazil.
The win puts Cameroon needing only a draw in their next and final group stage match to cement their place in the next round.
Cameroon’s 2022 CHAN group is only made of three teams which are Cameroon, Congo Republic and Niger after Kenya was suspended was by FIFA.
Cameroon will be bystanders on the 20th when Congo Republic take on Niger.
