Ivory Coast big names were not enough as they were held by  Sierra Leone 2:2 in a highly contested match.

Ivory Coast has defeated Sierra Leone 2:1 to extend their lead at the top of the group.

Ivory Coast still sit at the top of the group with four points followed by Sierra Leone with two points, Algeria and Equatorial Guinea play their second group games at 8:00pm

Ivory Coast had a penalty saved in the first half by Sierra Leone goalkeeper Mahamed Kamara who effortlessly went the right way and had Kessi’s penalty saved.

However Ivory Coast got their much needed goal through Sebastian Haller who did well in converting a beautiful Wilfred Zaha pass as goalkeeper Mahamed Kamara could only watch the ball go in.

Sierra Leone got their equalizer in the second half just close to the half hour mark after Musa Noah Kamara did well in receiving a pass from Mahamed Turay, beating Ibrahim Sangare before sending an unstoppable shot into the top corner.

Ivory Coast big names contained to deliver as Nicholas Pepe got his first goal of the tournament and Ivory Coast second of the match just five minutes pass the half hour mark with another well stroke shot into the bottom left corner.

just when Ivory Coast thought they had sealed the victory, Goalkeeper Ali Sangare made a terrible mistake as he tried to stop the ball from going out as a corner, Steven Caulker quickly capitalized on the error  passing the ball to Albaji Kamara who slotted it into an empty net.

 

In Group F, Tunisia ran riot against Mauritania scoring four goals to zero in a thrilling encounter with Khazri getting a brace.
