We take a look at Cameroon’s possible opponents in the Round of 16 of AFCON 2021

Cameroon qualified to the Round of 16 as group winners after their draw against Cape Verde

Cameroon finished top of the group with 7 points followed by Burkina Faso with 4 points, Cape Verde third place with 4 points and then Ethiopia with 1 points.

The only round of 16 clash that has been confirmed so far is Burkina Faso Vs Gabon.

We take a look at Cameroon’s possible opponents in the Round of 16.

Cameroon will either face the third place team in Group C or in Group E.
Comoros has already been confirmed as the third place team in Group C(though their qualification to the next round still depends on today’s fixtures)
For the third place team in group E, it is still tight battle as it is still a very open group. Only Ivory Coast have been guaranteed qualification in the group so far though their position in the group will only be known after today’s results.

So as things stand, Cameroon will either face Comoros(Group C), Sierra Leone(Group D), Equatorial Guinea(Group D) or Ivory Coast(Group D) in the Round of 16, depending on which team qualifies as the best third place team.
