Multi-award winning Cameroonian sports journalist Ade Divine has given a key advise to Cameroon head coach Rigobert Song on how to go about the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

He points out the advantages of having a great Midfielder like Zambo Anguissa and how to use him to the Advantage of the Cameroon national team ( Indomitable Lions of Cameroon ).

Below is what Ade Divine said.

“PROTECT ZAMBO ANGUISSA AND GIVE HIM THE KEYS!

“It will only be logical that Rigobert Song gives Zambo Anguissa the keys in midfield. He is not only the best Cameroon has in that department at the moment, but is also one of the most performant in the world at the moment.

Zambo Anguissa is creative and adept at assisting and scoring. He has flair, as well as a good first touch. Giving him the freedom to drift into channels in the middle and outwide to receive the ball could be key in releasing the wingers like Mbeumo or setting up the centre forward(s).

The free role should also reduce the possibilities of seeing him man-marked.

FOR THAT, HE NEEDS PROTECTION!

“For a team that is not so sure at the back, a lot of defensive effort is needed in midfield to provide cover for defenders. Cameroon can get dangerously exposed if other midfielders aside Zambo are given leeway to charge forward.

Zambo is the king, and he alone has the flair and technical prowess that earns him the privileged free role. Any other midfielder accompanying him should play to provide him with necessary cover as he drops into positions of space to get the ball.

A great scenario would be a double pivot in front of the defence, whose work would be principally to break down the opponent, win duels and offer Zambo even more freedom and confidence to operate.
