Bryan Mbeumo’s goal against Manchester United has been named Brentford’s Goal of the Season at the Brentford end-of-season awards.

Mbeumo scored the goal in Brentford’s 4-0 win against Manchester United earlier in the season. The goal was a beautiful counter-attack, initiated by Brentford defender Matthias Jensen, who won the ball in their box and sent a long ball to an unmarked Ivan Toney. Toney then superbly picked out Bryan Mbeumo with a pass. Mbeumo did well to shake off Luke Shaw, who was marking him, and then beat David De Gea with a fine finish.

Mbeumo has been one of Brentford’s key players in the Premier League this season, with 9 goals and 7 assists. He has the second-highest goal involvement of any Brentford player in the Premier League this season, with only Ivan Toney (20 goals and 4 assists) having more.

In Brentford’s last match against Tottenham Hotspur, Mbeumo stepped up in the absence of the suspended Ivan Toney, scoring a brace as Brentford defeated Tottenham Hotspur 3-1.

Full winners at the Brentford end-of-season awards include Ivan Toney, who was named Players’ Player of the Season, Ben Mee, who was named Supporters’ Player of the Season and Bryan Mbeumo’s goal against Manchester United, Brentford’s Goal of the season.
