Why Real Madrid is still the greatest club in the history of champions league and it’s not even close

Chelsea beat Real Madrid yesterday 3:1 on aggregate to qualify for the Champions league finals but it looks people have already forgotten what this club has done in the champions league

Real Madrid have now failed to reach the Champions league finals for 3 seasons in a row having won it from 2016-2018

Their performance has dropped in the competition since loosing Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus in 2018 after winning their 3rd consecutive title

But how ever it’s too early to forget that this is a club that won the trophy 3 times a row something no team has ever done before in the Champions league era. This is not the first time Real Madrid underperforming in the Champions league this century for  also having not won it from 2003-2013. In 2019 they were humiliated by Ajax in the Round of 16, 2020 eliminated by Manchester city still in the Round of 16 and now 2021 eliminated by Chelsea in the semi finals
