Famous Afrobeats artist, Seun Kuti, on Monday, handed himself over to the Lagos state police following his attack of an official.

According to SaharaReporters, he had previously paid a visit to the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Idowu Owohunwa, regarding a viral assault video.

This is consistent with Fela Kuti’s promise to the son that he would cooperate with the police.

Lagos Police Expert, Benjamin Hundeyin, in an explanation, said Seun was put collared after he showed up at the base camp in Ikeja.

He stated, Afrobeat performer, Seun Kuti, in the early long stretches of today handed himself over at the Lagos State Police Order Base camp, Ikeja, in organization of his legal advisor and family agent. He has been taken into custody in accordance with the law.

After what appeared to be an accident, Seun was seen slapping an officer on the road in a video that went viral online on Saturday evening.

Seun was brought to the Commissioner’s office by Nigerian Senior Advocate Adeyinka Olumide-Fusika, according to a source.

The source reported: Olumide Fusika, a senior lawyer, and Seun Kuti went to Lagos to see the Commissioner of Police. They are now there.

The Investigator General of Police, Usman Antacid Baba had requested the quick capture of , Seun Kuti over the attack.

In a brief statement titled “Serious assault on police officer:,” released on Saturday, May 13, this information was made public by Force Public Relations Officer CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi. The IGP condemns the act and orders Seun Kuti’s immediate detention.

The IGP instructed the Lagos State Commissioner of Police to swiftly arrest Seun and conduct an investigation into the assault’s cause.

The statement continued, The Afrobeat singer Seun Kuti, who was caught on camera assaulting a uniformed police officer, has been ordered to be arrested by the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, by the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba, CFR.

The IGP has similarly requested a fast and full examination concerning the remote and prompt cause(s) of the attack and indictment of the suspect as needs be.

IGP Usman Soluble base Baba guarantees Nigerians that demonstrations of scorn/scorn for images of power won’t go on without serious consequences while guilty parties of such frightful wrongdoings will be clearly brought to book.”

Meanwhile, Seun had previously stated that he would fully cooperate with the police in order to identify the offender.

“I welcome the investigation and will give my full cooperation! I also pray to the IG that whoever is wrong should be indicted,” the musician said on Instastory.
