For his substantial efforts as a co-writer on American singer  Chris Brown’s worldwide hit song, “Under The Influence,” Afrobeats sensation Davido has won a prestigious prize.

In acknowledgment of his contribution to the creation of “Under The Influence,” Davido has been presented with a platinum songwriting award by the National Music Publishers Association (NMPA), which is in charge of certifying the songwriters of RIAA certified singles.

The song debuted as part of Chris Brown’s album “Indigo” on October 3, 2019. But towards the middle of 2021, it skyrocketed in popularity and went viral, breaking numerous world records.

The song’s production and co-writing were shared by Chris Brown, Davido, and KDDO. Audiences responded favorably to their combined efforts, which helped ‘Under The Influence’ become a multi-platinum hit in the US and other nations.
