Davido, a well-known musician from Nigeria, took to his Instagram story on Tuesday to express his happiness at the Supreme Court’s confirmation of his uncle Ademola Adeleke as the Governor of Osun State.
Davido acknowledged in his post that the legal battle has been lengthy and has lasted for several years.
He declared that it was “freedom time” and wished the people of Osun State well.
He added that the victory was the result of divine intervention and thanked everyone involved in the struggle at the end of his post.
“It has been a long battle. Congratulations to the Osun people, it is indeed freedom time.
“The battle has been on for years but God has been with us. Congratulations to everyone,” he wrote.
Earlier in the day, the Supreme Court upheld the election of Senator Ademola Adeleke as the Governor of Osun State, dismissing an appeal by Adegboyega Oyetola challenging his election.
