German player Benjamin Heinrichs, whose ancestors are from Ghana, has freely admitted that Nigerian Grammy-winning musician Burna Boy is his favorite Afrobeats performer.
Heinrichs can be seen enthusiastically singing along to several of Burna Boy’s songs in a video that sports writer Oma Akatugba posted. When asked to choose between the group of Davido, Wizkid, and Burna Boy by John Jackson, the German player who won the DFL Pokal gave his opinion.
When asked which artist he liked best, Henrichs responded, “Burna Boy, because he’s making good music.”
Heinrichs, aged twenty-six and playing as a full-back, confidently picked Burna Boy and even went on to list some of the musician’s hit tracks. He demonstrated his connection to Burna Boy’s music by vibing along and explaining the powerful impact the Nigerian superstar’s music has on him.
“You know on the low, It’s plenty. You know, it’s good vibes. Davido and Wizkid are also very good,” he added.
