Chukwuka Ekweani, better known as CKay, a Nigerian singer, has attributed the groundbreaking effects of Tekno and Runtown‘s music to the global success of afrobeat hit songs.
On Friday, June 16, 2023, he made this statement via his Twitter handle, stating that the Nigerian music industry would one day convene a roundtable to discuss the significance of Tekno and Runtown to the crossover success of Afrobeats.
He wrote: “One day, we’re going to sit down and talk about how Tekno and Runtown’s music paved the way for songs like Love Nwantiti, Emiliana, Ku Lo Sa & Calm Down.”
