Temilade Openiyi, better known by her stage name Tems, is a musician from Nigeria.
On Friday, June 2, 2023, Tems’ manager, Muyiwa Awoniyi, made this clear in a post to his Instagram account strories.
She procured the honor for her commitment on Drake on Future’s ‘Wait for You’ which won the Best Rap Melodic Execution class.
Her Grammy win is her first ever, but the song was also up for Best Rap Song.
Tems and Sade Adu are now the only female Nigerian artists to win the Grammy. In 1986, Sade won the Best New Artist Grammy.
