Bits of hearsay that Nigerian whiz artist Wizkid presented his latest collection, “More Love, Less Ego,” for the sixteenth Headies Grants selections yet was dismissed have been kept by the association from getting the Headies Grants.

The clarification was provided by Smooth Promotions CEO Ayo Animashaun in response to a widely circulated article that suggested he had declined Wizzy’s application.

When Headies revealed the nominees for the renowned award presentation on Wednesday, Burna Boy received the most nominations—11 in total.

However, Wizkid was not included in the list of candidates, which led to negative responses on social media from fans who expressed displeasure.

A screenshot of what appears to be an Instagram story post by Animashau, in which the CEO purportedly explains that Wizkid nominated his album, was shared on Twitter by user @DerrickBugatti.

“To everyone complaining, Wizkid’s MLLE album was actually submitted to Headies but got declined because we are not accepting just anything, maybe he should work hard for next year!” the Instastory post read.

In reaction through his verified Instagram page, the Smooth Promotions boss, dismissed the viral report credited to him, adding that it was photoshopped.

Sharing a screenshot of the post, Animashaun wrote; “This is malicious! It’s photoshop. Fake! Not me.”
