Apart from the money and goals scored on the field, what is the argument of the “fans” for Eto’o to become the president of one of the largest sports federations in Africa? Says Jean Claude Mbede

The Journalist and Sport Specialist Jean Claude Mbede who is rooting for Seydou Mbom Njoya to retain his post as president of the Cameroon Football Federation is convinced Eto’o hasn’t done enough for Cameroon Football or doesn’t  have enough experience on the field in order to become FECAFOOT president

Jean Claude Mbede had this to say about Samuel Eto’o’s Candidacy for FECAFOOT President.

“Cameroon became a respected football nation in 1982, when it returned undefeated from the “Mundial Español”. Then at the “World Italia ?? 90”. Eto’o was not yet a footballer. Roger Mila and Thomas Ngono built their love with the Cameroonians thanks to their performances on the national team. But Eto’o’s fans like to tell us that he won the Champions League, as if FC Barcelona’s victories were important to us, “he says.

Apart from the money and goals scored on the field, what is the argument of the “fans” for Eto’o to become the president of one of the largest sports federations in Africa?

Where we must manage the administration, finances, relations with a direct hierarchy made up of ministers, when we know that Eto’o considers himself the vice-president of the republic. He humiliated the Prime Minister and looked at the Ministers from his smoke glass limousines.

How will he treat FEDERATION employees who are not his employees, nor his “chinda”, he who is used to dictating his law in the name of his billions? How will he reconcile diplomacy and politics? He who often organized spectacular strikes on the eve of all major football tournaments, when he was all powerful captain?

How will he ensure governance, he who is used to managing his money alone and without reporting to anyone? What are his abilities as a manager or manager when you know that all his activities have messed up from his foundation to his companies? Really give me a single argument that can work in his favor in this high administration?

So sensitive and so strategic for Cameroon? Why should he go and learn to manage in one of the largest administrations instead of taking the time to go to school? Why shouldn’t we leave another brilliant young man, a management teacher like Nyamsi? So for Cameroon’s youth between a university professor and a rich retired footballer is it the money that directs? Why are we confusing things? A former footballer has technical experience. And not administrative. That’s why 90% of former footballers dream of becoming coaches and non-administrative leaders. And those who want to do one or the other thing go to school first.

Coaching school like Patrick Mboma. Or school of administration for years like George Weah. Let’s stop the shortcuts. I remind you that football is Cameroon’s best ambassador worldwide. Not only because of Eto’o as dishonest people want to let it be known.

But thanks to Roger Milla, Oman Biyick, Mbida Arantes, Thomas Nkono,… Cameroon became a respected football nation in 1982, when it returned undefeated from the “Mundial Español”. Then at the ” Mondiale Italia 90″. Eto’o was not yet a footballer. Roger Mila and Thomas Ngono built their love with the Cameroonians thanks to their performances on the national team. But Eto’o’o fans like to tell us that he won the Champions League, as if FC Barcelona’s victories were important to us.

Because at the same time, in the Eto’o selection sabotaged all major competitions with the national team. The election to FECAFOOT is highly strategic. In the race for succession at the top of the state. The next executive will have the privilege and duty to ensure the next president his first honors with important victories. Eto’o can’t. I said!
