CAF announces 40% increase in AFCON 2023 Prize money

The Confederation of African football, CAF, has announced that the prize money for AFCON 2023 has been increased by 40%.

The Winner of the TotalEnergies AFCON Côte d’Ivoire 2023 will receive $7 million(CFA4.2 billion).

The Runner-up of the TotalEnergies AFCON Côte d’Ivoire 2023 will now get $4 million(CFA 2.4 billion)

Each of the two Semi-finalist will receive $2.5 million(CFA 1.5 billion) and each of the four Quarter-finalist, $1.3 million(CFA 778.7 million).

2023 AFCON prize money has been revealed:

• Winner — USD $7 million

• Runners-up — USD $4 million

• Semifinalists — USD $2.5 million

• Quarterfinalists — USD $1.3 million

In the 2021 edition, the winner received $5 million, while the Runners-up received $2.75 million. The Semi-Finalists received $2.2 million while the Quarter-Finalists received $1.175 million
