Cameroon boxer Albert Mengue Ayissi defeated Eswatni’s Dlamini T in the Men’s Welterweight(63-69kg) division to book a place in the round of 16

 

Albert Mengue (Cameroon) posted the first stoppage of Tokyo 2020 competition, as he halted Thabiso Dlamini (Eswatini) in the third and final round in the Round of 32 competition at welterweight Saturday afternoon in Tokyo.

 

Mengue was ahead 20-18 on all three scorecards by the time the referee intervened to stop the contest at 2:35 of round three.

With the win, Mengue goes to the Round of 16, where he faces number-Ireland’s Aiden Walsh on Tuesday, July 27

He said in an interview that his aim is to secure a gold medal
