Cameroon wins third place match against Burkina Faso in penalty kicks after Vincent Aboubakar scored two goals to equalize the match in 3 minutes 

After Egypt defeated the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon in the semi finals of TotalEnergies AFCON 2021, The had to fight for the third place against Burkina Faso which was defeated by Senegal in the semi finals ( Senegal 3-1 Burkina Faso).

Cameroon’s win against Burkina Faso is indeed a miracle, in the first half Burkina Faso led Cameroon 1-0 and before the first half ( 43 minutes) Cameroon’s goal keeper Andre Onana who is the first goalkeeper to score in the tournament scored an “own goal” making the match two ( 2) nil. A few moments later Quattara from Burkina Faso scored again making the scores 🇧🇫Burkina Faso 3-0 Cameroon 🇨🇲.

Cameroon which was playing with team B at the moment made some changes and Stephan Bahoken scored at 71 minutes making the scores 3-1, Cameroonians got angry and started leaving the stadium but the lions kept on playing, at exactly five minutes to the end of the official time Cameroons Captain Vincent Aboubakar scored (85′) which was a big boost for the indomitable lions.

After two minutes Vincent Aboubakar came in with the equalizer goal making the scores 🇧🇫 3-3🇨🇲 and it was his second goal in the match making him highest goal scorer in AFCON 2021 with eight (8) goals in total.

They went to penalty kicks and Andre Onana stopped a penalty making them win 5-4. Cameroon has been awarded the bronze medals as third place of the TotalEnergies AFCON Cameroon 2021.
