Cameroon’s scorer against Congo Republic yesterday, Jerome Mbekeli has confirm he has received offers from European clubs in his post match press conference after their CHAN 2022 opening match
Jerome Ngom Mbekeli was the scorer for Cameroon’s Intermediate Lions on their 1-0 win over Congo Republic yesterday.
The Colombe Sportive striker was at the receiving end of a Ramses Nguimzeu cross, heading it perfectly into the top left corner.
He has won the hearts of many Cameroon football fans since his assist for Aboubakar in Cameroon’s 1-0 victory over Brazil in the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Speaking in his post match press conference after their victory yesterday, this is what Mbekeli had to say to AfricanTopSports
“Already I feel very good. For a competition entry it was very very difficult but afterwards we tried to catch up to run twice as the opponent and to win the three points there. Now we will try to win the next match as well” said the Colombe Sportive player.
“We already talked about that yesterday that there is a contract in Europe. For the rest, it is to continue the competition which continues and try to go as far as possible” Mbekeli continued after being asked if he has received any offers from Europe.
“The first half was not for me. I tried to redouble my efforts in the second half and score a goal to give victory to my teammates and Cameroon” continued Mbekeli when asked about his individual performance.

“I had the mission to take what comes. I was called for the CHAN. Had to answer present because it is Cameroon. When you receive the call from your country, you must always respond. Afterwards, I hope to respond to one of the European clubs who contacted me” he continued when asked about his motivation for not receiving calls from foreign clubs immediately after the 2022 FIFA World cup.
Cameroon currently sit top of their 3 teams CHAN 2022 group with three points
