The highest Cameroonian goalscorers in each of Europe’s Top Five Leagues See’s Samuel Eto’o Feature in Two of the Five Leagues.

Not only is Samuel Eto’o Cameroon’s highest goal scorer in UEFA Champions League history, he is also their top scorer in La Liga and Serie A history.

We compiled a list of the top scoring Cameroonian footballers in each of Europe’s Top Five Leagues.

Job Desire playing for Middlesbrough

The Cameroonian striker spent six years at Middlesbrough where he racked up 16 goals in 92 Appearances. During his six year stay at the club, he went on loan spells to French Club Metz and Saudi Arabian Club Al-Ittihad.

Despite his career at Middlesbrough being threatened with several injuries, he managed to make a mark for the club and was the subject of one of the most memorable fan chants, being serenaded by the words “there’s only one Job on Teesside!”, due to a lot of unemployment in the area at the time.

During his time in Ligue 1, Roger Milla played for SC Bastia where he scored 36 Goals in 113 Appearances, Montpellier SC scoring 20 Goals in 62 Appearances, Valenciennes 6 Goals in 28 Appearances and AS Monaco 2 Goals in 17 Appearances.

Eric Maxim Choupo Moting – Bayern Munich

The only active player on the list, Choupo Moting has spent majority of his career playing in the German Bundesliga. He started off at Hamburger SV in 2007 and spent four years at the club, scoring 2 goals in 23 Appearances. In the 2009/2010 season, Choupo was loaned by Hamburger SV to FC Nürnberg where he racked up five goals in 25 Appearances. Choupo Moting moved to Mainz in 2011 and stayed at the club untill 2014, scoring 20 Goals in 74 Appearances. He moved to Schalke 04 in 2014 and scored 18 Goals in 82 Appearances. Choupo Moting currently plays for Bayern Munich where he has managed 17 Goals in 61 Appearances so far.

Samuel Eto’o – FC Barcelona

One of the Greatest African strikers of all time, Samuel Eto’o made a name for himself and Africa in the Spanish La Liga. He started off at Real Madrid in 1997 after joining from Kadji Sports Academy. Eto’o was just 16 Years-old at the time and couldn’t get enough game time. He managed only three appearances for Real Madrid before leaving on a permanent deal to Mallorca in 2000. At Mallorca, Samuel Eto’o discovered his scoring form as he racked up 54 Goals in 133 Appearances for the club before leaving for Barcelona in 2004. Samuel Eto’o became one of the best strikers in the World at FC Barcelona. He scored 108 Goals in 144 Appearances for the Catalonia giants in his five years stay at the club.

Samuel Eto’o – Inter Milan

Samuel Eto’o moved to Inter Milan from Barcelona in 2009 in a historic swap deal that saw Ibrahimovic join FC Barcelona. He made an immediate mark for the Italian Club as he won the league title in his first season. Eto’o left Inter Milan in 2011 after scoring 33 Goals in 67 League Appearances for the club. Samuel Eto’o moved to Sampdoria in 2015 from Everton. He managed only two goals for the club in 18 Appearances before leaving for Antalyaspor at the end of the season.
