Japan come from behind to stun Germany 2-1 to produce  the second upset of the 2022 FIFA World Cup

Germany opened the scoring 33 minutes from the spot after Japanese Goalkeeper Shuishi Gonda fouled David Raum in the box and Iikay Gundogan made no mistake as he sent the Goalkeeper the wrong way.

Kai Havertz thought he had doubled the lead for the Germans in first half added time but had his goal ruled out by VAR for offside.

Japan got their much deserved equalizer in the 75th minute when Ritsu Doan scored from a rebound shot.

Asano put the Asians 2-1 ahead just five minutes later in shocking style.

This is the second shock of the tournament after Saudi Arabia shocking 2-1 victory over Argentina yesterday

Spain take on Costa Rica to complete the group fixtures.
