Vincent Aboubakar revealed during the program Talent d’Afrique yesterday on Canal plus Sport that Cristiano Ronaldo wanted him to stay at Al Nassr.

After Cristiano Ronaldo’s arrival at Al Nassr last month, the club needed to release a foreign player before the Portuguese superstar could be registered.

Vincent Aboubakar ended up being the player that Al Nassr released inorder to make way for the five time ballon d’or winner. However, during the Program Talent d’Afrique on Canal plus sport yesterday, Vincent Aboubakar revealed that Cristiano Ronaldo and Al Nassr wanted him to stay at the club contrary to rumours that Cristiano Ronaldo was the reason for his departure.

Here is what the player had to say at Talent d’Afrique

“With the arrival of Cristiano, I made it clear to the coach that before his arrival I already wanted to leave. When Ronaldo arrived, a foreign player had to be released, Ronaldo asked me to stay and the club wanted me to stay at least until the end of the season, but I wanted to leave… But the club wanted me to stay and was ready to pay my salary until the end of the season,” explained Vincent Aboubakar.
