Senegal has defeated Egypt to win their first ever Afcon title. Senegal who were playing the finals for the third time in their history dominated much of the game.
Senegal almost opened the scoring in the first through Sadio Mane who had his Penalty saved by Egyptian goalkeeper Gabaski. Gabaski also went on to save one penalty in the shootout.
Egypt and Senegal both came close to scoring on multiple Occasions but both Goalkeepers were at their best.
Mendy was the hero in shootout saving two penalties.
Host Cameroon defeated Burkina Faso yersterday to win the bronze medal match after coming from three goals down to snatch a 3-3 draw and going on to win 5-4 on Penalties
