UEFA has released the three man shortlist for UEFA men’s and UEFA coach of the year award.
The award recognizes the Best Player and Best coach in Europe the previous season accross all competitions both National level and club level.
Chelsea has two players on the Men’s player of the year list(Joginho and Kante), the other player is Manchester city’s Kevin De bruyne.
This is the first time since it’s creation in 2010/2011 that all nominated players are midfielders.
Chelsea’s coach Thomas Tuchel was also nominated for UEFA coach of the year alongside Roberto Maccini and Pep Guardiola.

How The Players Were Shortlisted:
– 24 coaches of the teams @ EURO 2020
– 80 coaches of the clubs that participated in the group stages of the UCL & UEL
– 55 journalists selected by the European Sports Media (ESM) group, one from each of UEFA’s member associations.
The winners will be announced during the UEFA Champions league draw ceremony in Istanbul, Turkey on the 26th of August
