Argentina has defeated Netherlands 4-3 on penalty shootout to qualify for the Semi finals of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Molina opened the scoring for Argentina in the 35th minute. Messi spotted Molina inside the box with an almost impossible through ball and he made no mistake in sending it pass the keeper.

Messi doubled the lead for the Albacette from the spot. Acuna was fouled by Dumfries in the box and Messi made no mistake from the spot.

Weghorst got one back for the Netherlands in the 83rd minute with a thumping header pass Emiliano Martinez.

 

Super sub Weghorst got the dramatic equalizer for the Netherlands in the last minute of stoppage time. Netherlands got a freekick just on the edge of the box and played a short pass that fell to Weghorst who rolled it pass Martinez under tight pressure.

Van Dijk and Weghorst missed for the Netherlands during the shoot-out.

Argentina will play Croatia in the Semi finals who defeated Brazil 4-2 on penalty shoot out earlier today.
