The award-winning Nigerian singer and songwriter, David Adeleke, better known as Davido, recently revealed how the Hip Hop stars, Nicki Minaj and Lil Baby, felt when they were being dragged by rival fans over their collaborations with him.

Davido has collaborated with both Nicki Minaj and Lil Baby on two tracks off his A Better Time album. The first song he collaborated with Nicki Minaj on was called Holy Ground, and the second with Lil Baby was titled So Crazy.

In order to shoot the music video for So Crazy, Davido flew out to the United States, and Lil Baby made himself available for his scenes. However, there is yet to be a video for the song Holy Ground.

During an interview on +44, the DMW boss revealed that due to the incident, he had to plead with fans to shun rivalry or banter and avoid attacking anyone. It appears that fans of Davido’s counterparts began sending messages to the American artists on social media platforms questioning why they had agreed to collaborate with him.

Davido said; “It’s crazy like they leaked my album. For example like this stanship. Obviously, my fans, I can’t get to all of them but there is one person I can call and I will be like ‘Yo! Talk to them, tell them to clam down’.

“So, before the new album came out, I called one of them, I wad like ‘Look, last time I dropped my album, you guys were like just bashing everybody. So, when it wad my turn to come out, unnecessary things happened’.

“Even Nicki called me. Nicki Minaj, Lil Baby were like ‘Yo! Why are these..’. Like the other fans were DMing them ‘Why did you do a song with Davido?’.”
