Simi, a well-known singer from Nigeria, has stated that she has never experienced heartbreak and has referred to herself as a champion of those who have been hurt.
In a recent interview with reality star Tacha that was broadcast on Cool FM in Lagos, the crooner of “Stranger” stated that the events that inspired the song were not her own.
Simi stated that she believed the song’s lyrics offered a perspective that deserved to be sung about, allowing her to relate to those who have experienced heartbreak.
I don’t think I’ve ever been brokenhearted. That song, “Stranger,” just came to me easily, I don’t know.
“I guess, maybe I’m just a champion for people that have taken breakfasts [heartbroken] severally [laughs].
