At the 2023 BET Awards, the Cameroonian-American artist Libianca won the viewer’s choice award for “Best New International Act.”

Libianca beat out her Nigerian rival Asake to win the category and the coveted award. Other nominees included Flo and Raye from the UK, Camidoh from Ghana, Maureen and Werenoi from France, MC Ryan SP from Brazil, and Pabu Cooper from South Africa.

Because Libianca is the first Cameroonian artist to receive such an honor at the prestigious BET Awards, this historic nomination is of the utmost significance to her.

On Sunday, June 25, the 23rd BET Awards honored achievements in music, sports, television, movies, and other entertainment fields.

Libianca’s ongoing efforts to pave the way have enabled her to push the envelope and shattered records.In nations like Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and Switzerland, her top single, “People,” has earned Platinum certification.

Additionally, it has received Gold certification in the US, UK, France, and Denmark.
