Egyptian star Mohamed Salah has been named the Premier League Player of the Month for October, winning the award for the fifth time in his career.

Salah ended Tottenham’s award dominance by becoming the first player outside Spurs to claim a monthly award in the 2023/24 season.

The Liverpool forward enjoyed a superb month, scoring five goals in three appearances in October, helping the Reds to two wins and one draw.

He scored a pair of braces against Brighton and Everton and added another against Nottingham Forest, ensuring he scored in each of Liverpool’s three matches in October.

Salah equals Rooney and van Persie
Salah’s fifth Player of the Month award puts him alongside Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney and Dutch striker Robin van Persie for the number of monthly accolades won.

The Egyptian forward is now one award behind both Cristiano Ronaldo and Steven Gerrard, while Sergio Aguero and Harry Kane remain atop the list of most accolades won, with seven each.

Salah beat Aston Villa’s Douglas Luiz, Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo, Wolves’ Pedro Neto, Arsenal’s Declan Rice, and Christian Romero to win the award.
