Joseph Akinwale Akinfenwa, better known by his stage name Joeboy, is a Nigerian afrobeats and R&B singer. He says that Wizkid helped young artists believe they could become stars.

On the most recent episode of the Body & Soul podcast, the “Baby crooner” made this statement while talking about how Machala changed his life.

Joeboy, who is signed to Mr. Eazi’s Empawa Africa, claims that it was hard for young artists before Wizkid to blow early.

Joeboy noted that he knew was going to become a successful musician after meeting the ‘Essence’ hit maker for the first time.

He said; “One thing I really appreciate about Wizkid is that he made young artistes believe that they could pop at a young age.

Before Wiz, if any artiste pop, it was probably at a very later stage in life. But after Wiz young people started coming through.”
