Cameroon play a 1-1 draw with Namibia to remain top of Group C in the 2023 AFCON Qualifiers

Cameroon has played a 1-1 draw with Namibia in the 2023 AFCON Qualifiers.

Namibia were first to open the scoring at the Amadou Ahidjo Stadium. A miscommunication between Jean Charles Castelleto and Goalkeeper Devis Epassy set inform Mamelodi Sundowns striker Shalulile through on goal just few minutes to the half hour mark.

Christopher Wooh suffered a clashed of head with Charles Hambira in the first half and both players were carried to the hospital.

Nicholas Nkoulou thought he had leveled the score for Cameroon but his goal was ruled out by VAR.

Olivier Kemen finally got his first Cameroon goal in the 73rd minute with a superb header after getting at the end of a Kunde Malong free kick to put Cameroon level.

Cameroon still sit top of the Group with Four points, followed by Namibia with two points.

Upnext for Cameroon in four days time is the return leg of the fixture in Namibia.

It’s worth noting that the top two teams of the Group will qualify for the 2023 AFCON in Ivory Coast next year.
