“Eto’o is the only one who can give Cameroonian football visibility. He was born to help Cameroon” ~ Claude Leroy

News

Former Indomitable Lions coach, Claude Leroy, believes that Eto’o is the only one who can bring visibility to Cameroonian football, and he urges Cameroonians to support him instead of criticizing him.

Leroy, an African football expert who managed the Cameroon national team from 1985 to 1988 and won the AFCON 1998 trophy with the Lions, had nothing but praise for Samuel Eto’o during a recent interview.

“The president of FECAFOOT, Samuel Eto’o, is the greatest footballer in Africa. Thanks to him, Cameroonian football has the opportunity to gain visibility. This young man was born to assist his country in every possible way. Samuel does not tolerate falsehoods. He never holds grudges against anyone. He is a diligent worker and an epitome of excellence. I fail to comprehend why some Cameroonians, who do not appreciate football, attempt to stifle this noble discipline,” said the 76-year-old.

“Others have noticed that Samuel refuses to engage in activities that bring Cameroon down, and they find it more convenient to attack him through baseless lawsuits at the CAS, extracting significant sums of money from him. I would advise him to focus on his responsibilities and disregard the deceitful tactics of these insignificant individuals. Cameroonians have finally realized that their idol is committed to his work because 48 million people are counting on him, not just 11 million. Footballers should also refuse to play without receiving their rightful compensation. Samuel is there for them!” he continued.
