Mic Monsta – The stars are watching the album review

1) Mic Monsta – Work dey

The album started with a hot rap song titled “Work dey” produced by KinGunz where the rapper drops rap lines, talking about how he’s grown in the industry and how the journey has been for him in the past 10 years, and the state of the country. “I start na me one but now see the crowd now for my side” which shows how happy he feels about his successes and the fan base he’s built over the years.

2. Emergency (the stars are watching )

This is another rap song where Mic Monsta talks about him saving the hip-hop culture in Cameroon and staying consistent. The rapper displays his full potential, talking about ‘fights’ destroying the industry and he believes unity will help Cover one another’s weaknesses advising People to stay unique and do the best because ‘the stars are watching’.

3. Days like this ft Dready Christ, Marnick, and Torch City.

This is one of my favorites which was released five months before the album. This track carries a powerful message about ‘Real life’ clearly saying that every day will not be fruitful no matter how you work.

Days like this” by Mic Monsta featuring Dready Christ, Marnick and Torch City reminds us of our vulnerabilities as human beings because no one has the final say in anything except God.( watch the video here )

4. Grind ft NB Max & Makizar

This is a track all street hustlers will relate to. Mic Monsta reminisces on how hard he worked and the disadvantages he had but didn’t relax because he knew he’ll be a star. “I’ll be winning, too much a fighter to be quitting” with NB max on the Chorus, spicing it up with Lãmnso’ after the first verse, Makizar comes in with a killer verse trapping and mixing Cameroon pidgin

5. Wish ft Mihney

This is the definition of a perfect Mboko love song 😃. Meeeerde! Money knows Mboko hahaha. In the Sango Edi produced the song, Mic Monsta praises the body of her woman and talks about how he gets lost when he’s thinking about his lady and wishes he had supernatural powers, Mihney comes in with the second verse where she compliments Mic Monsta and proclaims she’s ready to make him happy. 6. Love wins ft Asaba

This track is a perfect blend of two talented artists flowing on an Afro-pop beat effortlessly. The Ralf Instrumentals produced track talks about the importance of patience and LOVE when building a career. Asaba holds the chorus with an amazing “small small, Molo Molo, hair goes di grow as time di go”.

7. Don’t stop ft Marnick & Dj Modelo.

This is a song where Mic Monsta talks about luxury, flexing the star status Marnick on the other hand calls for enjoyment and says this is the harvesting season 😀 featuring Kumba disk jockey Dj Modelo.

8. My Way ft Crownz

This is a Jayon Produced hip-hop rap sound that will burst your speakers starting from the sweet Chorus from Crownz to the Amazing verses Mic Monsta dropped on this song. Feeling underrated or unappreciated? This is a perfect song to boost self-confidence.

9. Pray for me ft Dready Christ

The ninth track featuring Dready Christ also produced by KinGunz is a mid-tempo Banga that captions challenges and struggles Mic Monsta and his record label (Kwata Music) have been through but they finally made it through.

10. Energy ft Drizilik

This is a perfect blend of international “Energy” just like the title of the song.

Sierra Leonean artist Drizilik matched up the energy in this song with an amazing verse which came in shortly after the first chorus.

Two great MCs with bars and rhymes from different places meet on the same ground. I bet you can’t listen to this song just once.

11. Nostalgia ft Kikoh

This is a sample of Cameroon olden songs just like Mic Monsta did with “local Loki to” but on this one he featured Kikoh.

From tracks 12 – 16, all of them are amazing songs just like the ones above. Listening to this album, I had a unique feeling while listening to every track and if I were to rate it on a scale of 0- 10, my rating is 8.5/10.
