Born Bokungai Chrisogonus is a Cameroonian singer, song Writer and software engineer professionally known as Chris Lono.

EARLY LIFE AND BACKGROUND.

Chris Lono is a native of Djottin, a remote village in the North West region of Cameroon. The multi-talented singer discovered his passion for music back in primary school while growing up with his elder cousin who introduced him to American Hip Hop music which dominated back in the early 2000s.

MUSIC CAREER

His cousin’s interest in hip-hop music built his love for Lil Wayne who inspired him to finally want to become an artist. He started composing songs at his early years in secondary school for his pleasure. He would freestyle to his classmates and friends in the dormitory most of the time.

Still filled with passion, Chris Lono developed more interest in Cameroonian music from his cousin who is a producer and singer. His love for Cameroonian Hip Hop made him love rappers like Jovi, Mic Monsta, Kikoh, NBO. Who did street Hip Hop known as Mboko which to him Jovi masterminded it all by giving it an urban vibe. Increasing his love for the rapper, producer and the genre in general.

After graduating from university in 2019. Chris decided not to rush into music. He took vocal training and guitar lessons. This would help him understand music in both its theoretical and practical forms.

To feed his curiosity, he visited Snack bars, recording studios, and show arenas in Douala to showcase his talent in freestyle form. Reasons why he gained a little audience in Deido-Douala. With a mission to give hope and educate he believes in creating a new genre he is working on, which is aimed at reviving Makossa and giving a new taste to rap music (RAPOSSA). After 13 years of dreaming Chris thinks he is ready, and has a couple of songs ready to be released very soon. Chris is therefore counting on your support.
