Cameroon strikers were firing on all cylinders for their clubs this weekend as Aboubakar, Choupo Moting, Ignatius Ganago were all on the score sheet this weekend.

A Review of the performances of Cameroon strikers this weekend

Choupo Moting vs Stuttgart

Choupo Moting scored his 16th goals in his last 18 appearances for Bayern Munich in their 2-1 win over Stuttgart. His tally of 16 goals(plus 4 assists) makes him Bayern Munich’s top scorer in all competitions this season.

Vincent Aboubakar vs Ankaragucu

Vincent Aboubakar scored his first goal since returning to Besiktas from Al Nassr in January. It was a beautiful effort as he received the ball from outside the box, drifted pass three defenders and drilled a low shot to the bottom left corner

Ignatius Ganago vs PSG

Ignatius Ganago scored for Nantes in their 4-2 defeat to PSG. He celebrated by pointing to the sky, paying tribute to his 5 year old daughter that passed away some weeks ago.
This was his fourth league goal for Nantes this season in 11 starts. He also has 3 assists

Danny Loader vs Chaves

Daniel Namaso Loader who was recently Rigobert Song’s provisional squad for AFCON 2023 qualifiers was on the score sheet for FC Porto in their 3-1 win over Chaves. Danny Loader fired in a beautiful low shot to the bottom right corner from outside the box after getting pass two defenders.
Loader is gradually breaking into the FC Porto first team as he has started two consecutive league matches for FC Porto for the first time this season.

Leandre Tawamba vs Damac

Leandre Tawamba scored his first goal in over two months for Al Tawoun in their 2-1 win over Damac. He realky needed that one to get his confidence back.

Frank Evina vs Holstein

Frank Evina was a hero SV Sandhausen as he scored the equalizer to help his team get a 1-1 draw against Holstein Kiel in the Bundesliga 2 and put an end to a series of 4 defeats in a row. It was the 22 year olds first Bundesliga 2 goal in four appearances this season.

 

Some other outstanding perfomers for Cameroon this weekend with their clubs were Andre Onana and Martin Hongla

Andre Onana registered his 13th clean sheet of the season in Inter Milan’s 2-0 victory of Lecce. He has achieved this feet in just 26 appearances with Italian giants averaging one clean sheet in every two matches.

Cameroon strikers were in red hot form for their clubs Aboubakar, Choupo Moting, Ignatius Ganago were all on the score sheet this weekend.

 

Martin Hongla bossed the midfield as Real Valladolid defeated Espanyol 2-1.

With most of the players above already named in Rigobert Song’s 34-man provisional squad for 2023 AFCON qualifiers this month, it won’t be an easy decision for the head coach to come out with his final list of 25 players.
