The game does not fall during a FIFA international date, when professional clubs are required to release players for national team duty. But it doesn’t make it a not to watch match either.
The match might also see the return of Mexico all time leading top scorer Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez.
The match will take place at 3AM West African Time in the morning of June 11.
In 1993, Cameroon played a friendly match against Mexico which ended in a 1-0 defeat.
The last time Cameroon played Mexico was in the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil which Cameroon lost 1-0. The two teams have met only twice in history.
The June 10 will serve as a preparation match for Mexico ahead of their June 18 semifinal of the CONCACAF Nations League against the United States.
Cameroon’s next competitive fixture is a must win match against Burundi in the 2023 AFCON qualifiers on September 4th
