“Onana and Anguissa are average players who are lucky to play for big clubs” ~ Former Cameroonian international Serge Branco

Uncategorized

Former Cameroonian international Serge Branco believes that Cameroon duo Andre Onana and Zambo Anguissa are merely fortunate to be playing for prominent clubs.

Andre Onana completed a move from Inter Milan to Manchester United for a club goalkeeper record fee of £47.2 million after winning the Italian Cup and the Super Copa Italia with the Italian side. Despite a somewhat unimpressive start to his time in Manchester, Onana has managed to turn his season around and currently sits joint second among goalkeepers with the most clean sheets in the Premier League this season, with 8. He has also prevented the most goals in the league this season (5.01) and has recorded the third most saves.

On the other hand, Anguissa played a key role in Luciano Spalleti’s midfield, helping Napoli secure the Italian Serie A title last season.

However, former Cameroonian international Serge Branco believes that the two players are simply fortunate to be playing for their respective clubs.

During an appearance on the show Franc-jeu on LTM TV, he shared the following thoughts about the duo: “Zambo Anguissa is an average player who happens to be at a big Italian club [Napoli]. André Onana is an average player who plays for a big English club [Manchester United]. Cameroon currently does not have any outstanding players,” revealed the 43-year-old.
